I am a network engineering professional developing deeper capability in cybersecurity through structured study, hands-on security testing and technical investigation.
My approach starts with people and purpose. Organisations exist to provide value, and security should help them pursue that value while managing risk responsibly. I therefore view professional ethics, human behaviour and sound governance as foundations upon which effective security should be built — not considerations added after technology has been deployed.
From Networking to Cybersecurity
My networking background provides a foundation in infrastructure, connectivity and network operations. I am building on that foundation through practical work in security monitoring, detection, incident investigation and security architecture.
Rather than studying security concepts only in theory, I use my cybersecurity lab to test, observe and document how those concepts behave in controlled environments.
Testing Security Concepts
This website documents that process.
I take security concepts encountered through professional study and technical research, examine the reasoning behind them, and where appropriate test them in my lab. The objective is to understand what we are trying to protect and why, the value and people involved, the risks that could affect that value, and how security principles and controls can be applied and tested in practice.
